STANMORE HOUSE

ARE YOU A YOUNG PERSON WHO WILL BE LIVING AT STANMORE HOUSE?

Here is what you can expect:

  • You will have your own room.
  • You'll do the same sorts of things you would be doing wherever you lived – going to school, fun activities, visiting friends, sharing household chores etc
  • You'll be living with up to five other young people aged from 12 to 16
  • Youth workers are at the house all the time to look after you
  • You will be helped to find a permanent place to live. This could be:
    • Living with family or a family member
    • Living with a foster family
    • Living in some other type of place.

When you go to visit Stanmore House with your worker you will be given a copy of the Kids Info Booklet – Stanmore House  which will tell you all about how things work in this program.  You will also be able to ask questions and check out the place to make sure you are happy to be living there before you move in.

ARE YOU A YOUTH WORKER OR OTHER PROFESSIONAL WHO WOULD LIKE TO REFER A YOUNG PERSON TO THE STRETCH-A-FAMILY STANMORE HOUSE PROGRAM?

Download the Protocol & Guidelines for making a referral to Stanmore House

This document will help you to determine if the young person is eligible for referral to Stretch-A-Family’s Stanmore House program.

Referrals
Referrals are taken by Stanmore Caseworkers on (02) 9569 6933 during business hours. Young people who meet the eligibility criteria for the program will be invited for a meeting at Stanmore House, accompanied by their Dept. of Community Services representative.
